Within ASML the Development & Engineering (D&E) organization is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The sector Mechanical Development (MD) is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. As a part of the mechanical development department for DUV, the group Wafer handling and positioning is responsible for engineering of all (precision) mechanics in the XT waferstage short stroke module.
Role and responsibilities
As a Mechanical design engineer in the Mechanical Development sector you are responsible for the development and application of mechanical designs to meet system specifications and operational requirements.
Furthermore you are responsible for:
- Specifying and designing the modules and/or functionality to realize the required performance.
- Evaluating and implementing improvement proposals.
- Using state of the art design methods and construction principles to ensure adequate designs that can be realized from a technical and supply chain perspective.
- Driving the qualification of the design by contributing to the specification of tests and the design and realization of test equipment.
- Ensuring that prototypes are built and tests are carried out.
- Delivering the technical product documentation that is needed to release the design for volume production.
In this position you will report to your team leader of the group DUV Wafer Handling & Positioning. You be operational within (multidisciplinary) projects in the XT Waferstage Agile Release Train

Educational and experience
- Bachelor in mechanical engineering with proven experience in precision design
- Preferred more than 10-15 years of experience in a development and engineering organization
- Must haves: Knowledge of NX (or equivalent 3D CAD), construction principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerance and FEM analysis
- Knowledge of and experience in cost of goods optimized designs and manufacturability techniques is preferred
- Knowledge of and experience in mechatronics is preferred

Arbeidsvoorwaarden
- A monthly salary between €4200 - €5300
- A 13th-month payment, pro-rated periodically
- 8.33% holiday allowance calculated on 12 monthly salaries
