System Engineer Electrical

Hyster-Yale is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer – Electrical to design and develop electrical systems for conventional, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) used in container handlers and forklifts. This role involves defining electrical architectures, selecting components, mitigating Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) issues, creating electrical diagrams, and advising on wiring harness routing
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and develop electrical system requirements for EV and conventional vehicle platforms.
• Design, select, and develop electrical components and solutions based on technical specifications.
• Develop specifications for custom electrical components and collaborate with suppliers.
• Support troubleshooting and prototype vehicle testing to ensure system reliability.
• Document all design decisions and technical findings for future reference.
• Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to enhance system performance.
• Assist in EMC testing, failure testing, and compliance verification.
• Provide technical support and product training for production and service teams.

Functie-eisen

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electronics, or Electronics.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical system design.
• Experience in the automotive or off-highway industry is highly desirable.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
