We are looking for a DevOps Platform Engineer with experience in PowerShell and Windows VM administration (preferably hosted on Azure Cloud) to take on the ownership of the daily performance and reliability of the platform with assistance from the developers.

In addition to daily operations, the engineer will also take the lead in automating maintenance and deployment processes for various software, and keep the platform compliant with the latest secure configuration requirements in an automated way.

As a key part of the role the candidate should be able to lead the effort to find a balance between the requirements of the IT Security team and the needs of end users and developers. This includes creating and managing exception requests where needed, and designing and implementing changes to the platform which keep it compliant, but functional for their team and platform stakeholders.

With the following results:

Being first point of contact for any platform issues encountered by the stakeholders and tactically resolving immediate issues
Designing and creating a comprehensive suite of scripts to automate management and deployment of our infrastructure and third party software components
Proactively monitoring application vulnerability dashboards and ensuring the software remains compliant
Taking the lead in monitoring infrastructure security dashboards and resolving any issues. This may include negotiating with various security teams, raising exception documentation, and implementing structural changes where possible, with the assistance of the development team and the system architect.
Looking at our hardware profile and identifying ways to improve performance, for example through building/testing parallel setups
Producing platform-related documentation in our Wiki, partly as evidence of our security compliance

Mandatory:

Platform engineer with experience of administration of Windows Virtual Machines.
Strong proficiency in writing PowerShell scripts.
·Good communicator, both oral and written.
Assertive person who can represent stakeholders’ interests to the IT security teams and find the right balance between the two.
Happy to represent the team in daily calls with stakeholders from an infrastructure perspective and to take ownership for resolving infrastructural difficulties.
Team-player to make sure the right things get done, and done the right way
Aptitude for identifying root causes and implementing structural resolutions to issues.
Fluent English speaker

Experience working in Azure Cloud
Experience with Azure DevOps YAML pipeline

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

The salary for this position is between €61,000 and €71,500 per year, including holiday pay, based on a 40-hour workweek. The exact salary will be dependent on your experience and qualifications.
