As a KYC analyst you will operate within the DFC process domain, particularly in the Client Review process. You will join a team of analysts primarily dedicated to the ABN AMRO UK Clients, Transaction Banking Hub (TBH). However, we value adaptability, so you may occasionally engage in tasks across other sectors, though your main focus will remain on TBH.
Most clients within the TBH demographic are English-speaking, predominantly British, necessitating that your work, including client interactions and documentation, be conducted in English. Given the diversity of sectors in which our clients operate, a broad understanding of the KYC landscape for business clients is essential. Familiarity with various business entities, including Dutch forms such as STAK, BV, NV, etc., is also important.
In your role as an analyst, you will evaluate the diverse potential risks posed by existing customers, focusing on managing threats related to money laundering and terrorism financing. Through meticulous investigations, we aim to curb financial crime, which is increasingly crucial as regulators impose more rigorous requirements to ensure early risk assessment by banks. This proactive approach is vital for the bank's commitment to its societal role. Ultimately, your objective is to compile a comprehensive, accurate, reconstructable, and consistent customer file.
On a typical day, your primary responsibility will be conducting investigations. You will review files to assess the risks of money laundering or terrorism financing, utilizing both internal systems and external resources to gain an in-depth understanding of the customer and their account activities. Your research will involve analyzing customers for potential compliance with the WWFT regulations. An integral part of your research involves direct customer contact. This will include both telephone and written communication with clients, where it is crucial to ask insightful, open-ended questions and listen attentively. Through clear communication and efficient working methods, you will contribute to surpassing customer expectations and ensuring seamless processes.
You will document your research findings and insights into the customer file, providing an appropriate risk evaluation as part of your gatekeeper role. You are not alone in this process; collaboration with colleagues, coaches, and other stakeholders is encouraged to ensure effective prevention of criminal activities and contribute to a safer society. Upon completing a file, you will proceed to the next investigation. Besides conducting investigations, your workweek will include daily and weekly meetings, case discussions, and training sessions. At ABN AMRO, we operate in a hybrid work model: in agreement with your team, you will split your time between working from home and from the office. The TBH team is based in Amersfoort. In addition to your daily duties, there is a strong emphasis on professional development. The DFC Academy supports this, while the Employee Experience department offers a variety of activities focused on vitality and team building.
