Job Description: Sourcing Manager - Software

Position Overview

The Sourcing Manager for Software is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes for software products and services. This includes issuing tenders, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the business receives cost-effective, high-quality software solutions. While the role focuses on operational procurement activities, it also identifies opportunities to align procurement efforts with broader organizational goals and technological needs.

Key Responsibilities

Tender and Procurement Management

  • Coordinate and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), and other tendering processes for software.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals based on criteria such as cost, functionality, compliance, and support.
  • Ensure procurement processes are timely and in compliance with internal and external policies.

Contract Negotiation and Management

  • Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels. Including reviewing the contract self-first.
  • Ensure all software agreements include appropriate provisions for compliance, privacy, licensing, and cybersecurity.
  • Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.

Supplier Engagement

  • Maintain relationships with key software vendors and service providers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for software-related inquiries and issue resolution.

Cost and Value Optimization

  • Drive cost savings through competitive tendering and effective negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising on quality or compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure software purchases align with budget constraints.

Operational Support

  • Support the IT and finance teams in tracking software licenses, usage, and compliance.
  • Address day-to-day issues related to software procurement and vendor relations.

Incremental Strategic Contributions

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization in software procurement.
  • Suggest ways to consolidate vendor portfolios or negotiate enterprise-wide agreements.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure software selections align with long-term digital transformation goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably with a focus on software.
  • Familiarity with software licensing models and contract negotiation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement tools and systems.

Competenties

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing RFP/RFQ processes.
  • Basic knowledge on Agile way of working
  • Basic knowledge of IT frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO certifications).
  • Ability to analyze and compare vendor proposals effectively.

Must haves:

  1. Experience with software (licences)
  2. Monitoring clear communication boundaries
  3. Purchasing/Sourcing experience
  4. Extended experience complex contracts
