We are looking for a motivated, experienced and independent chemical engineer who can contribute to both our innovation projects within Brightsite and technology projects at our customers. Brightsite is a public-private partnership between Sitech Services, TNO, Maastricht University and Brightlands Chemelot Campus and focuses on making the chemical industry more sustainable, including at the Chemelot site. Within Brightsite we work on projects to make the chemical industry climate neutral. We do this by developing new processes and technologies together with our partners. But also by looking at the entire system of factories and determining when which technology can best be used. To do this, we use and refine models that look at the system as a whole.
Functie-eisen
In this role, you will lead the scale-up of innovative projects, working with multidisciplinary teams from diverse work cultures. You’ll turn complex challenges into practical solutions using model-based and experimental approaches, delegating tasks to experts where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead innovative projects and scale-ups, collaborating with diverse teams.
- Solve complex issues creatively and structurally, focusing on key elements.
- Translate innovation challenges into real-world solutions for factory implementation.
- Identify innovation areas and define research programs based on development and scale-up needs.
- Switch between fundamental research and practical solutions in both innovation and customer projects.
- Contribute to feasibility studies, project scoping, and engineering tasks.
- Work on conceptual and basic engineering for innovation and customer projects.
- Build strong relationships with external partners and customers.
Competenties
- A Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, with a focus on water management.
- 2-4 years of experience as a chemical engineer, skilled in solving complex problems.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Experience in multidisciplinary teams with diverse work cultures.
- A natural leader who fosters collaboration and tackles challenges effectively.
