In the role of Direct Merchandiser you must have a passion for product and an understand of the consumer and how to serve them.
As you will be leading a complexed business area, former work experience of retail buying/planning is must for this candidate. Knowledge of assortment building/buying processes is required. You need to have a confirmed knowlegde in retail acumen, strong communication skillset with a proactive approach in your daily and seasonal work.
You need to thrive working within a dynamic environment, which will require working on multiple seasons simultaneously while managing through ad-hoc requests. With this you need to know how to prioritise your workload and have a flexible mindset and ability, a strength in multi-tasking is required. Within this role, the candidate is expected to present their work to x-functional stakeholders, with this presentation skills are needed.
We are looking for someone with the following knowledge and competences:
- Able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of Merchandising;
- You have experience with assortment creation and product acumen. You are able to create a balance product assortment, delivering on the consumer needs at the right product, time, place and price;
- You have strong retail and financial acumen: understanding of retail KPI's and how to read sales data and act;
- You have a consumer centric mindset, consumer knowledge, trend knowledge and affiliation for sports;
- You have experience with tools in Merchandising visualization, database tools, online analytical dashboards and fluency in Office Suite (Powerpoint and Excel focus);
- You have strong business and stakeholder management skills and are able to influence those stakeholders;
- You are a strategic thinker and a strong team player;
- You have strong communication and presentation skills.
We are looking for someone to inspire and serve Nike's consumers by supporting the Nike Direct merchandising team in building a top in class merchandising and product assortment for EMEA. This person is responsible for seasonal assortment creation within a respective complexed business area, creating a Nike Direct omni-channel assortment that caters to both Nike Digital and Nike stores. This role will require close collaboration/influencing with the cross-functional team.
From a day-to-day perspective, your accountability and focus will be on:
- Building assortments from seasonal strategy to execution; showcase visually and reflect in assortment plan (Excel and Online Tools). Decide on product distribution and flow of product for Nike Direct;
- Partner with respective merchandising counterparts to make sure we are driving a full head to toe offering for Nike's consumers;
- Business management, pre-season: provide clear assortment direction to planning to jointly land a seasonal buy in support of the most productive and profitable ND business whilst aligning to business strategies;
- Present seasonal strategy for respective business portfolio during sign-off gates and seasonal handovers to x-functional stakeholders.
- In-season: with your x-functional counterparts optimize business results leveraging respective trade levers. Trade your respective business area, attend trade meetings and leverage retail data to understand the performance of the business portfolio;
- Read-and-react using data to drive informed decisions to optimize the business and provide input on monthly or quarterly business re-caps;
- Future seasons: Provide geo consumer insights to relevant stakeholders and influencing future line plan needs for the ND Consumer;
- Stakeholder management: support the Nike Direct Merchandising team on Merchandising seasonal deliverables to ensure delivery of your merchandising plan with x-functional partners.
