As an Editorial Manager you are constantly following up with different stakeholders. You work directly with all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure smooth transfers of articles, to identify and address bottle necks, and to suggest improvements in the family clusters of journals. That's why we're looking for the following skills and experience;
- A scientific background (undergraduate level) in life science or social science, or equivalent amount of work experience, is strongly preferred
- Able to work well in a collaborative environment and a drive to collaborate across multiple internal departments
- Able to connect with a broad range of people as well as to work independently
- Flexible, analytical and proactive; able to think critically about a wide range of issues
- Excellent written and verbal English communications.
As an Editorial Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Assess and optimize existing Article Transfer Service (ATS) connections to increase the transfer success rate in a family of journals;
- Be the ATS central point of contact, ensuring a smooth article transfer among journals through collaboration with editors, author, journal managers and publishers;
- Identify and expedited transferred articles, following up with authors on outstanding transfers and offer support;
- Monitor and follow up on accepted transfer offers with incomplete submissions in the receiver journal;
- Evaluate authors feedback, surveying authors from rejected and/or expired offers Monitor performance, running reports, flagging and addressing roadblocks, and suggesting further cluster optimization.
