Join the Intern Training Academy
You are currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing an undergraduate degree (HBO or WO-Bachelor level) for the duration of the intern assignment. In addition, completion of your first academic year is required. Preferred fields of study are Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, and/or other health related or scientific fields.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (in English) required.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for duration of internship.
- Some experience with data review and/or data analysis preferred.
- Some experience working with technology platforms and systems used for the collection, analysis and reporting of data preferred.
During your internship there are some principal responsibilities such as executing assigned activities for clinical trials within scope of responsibility for assignment. In addition, you also conduct activities in compliance with J&J and Data Management and Central Monitoring SOPs, processes and policies. Also, you may support innovation or process improvement projects within the department, as directed.
The Data Management and Central Monitoring Interns may be assigned into one of the following roles based on business needs: Central Monitor or Data Manager.
During your internship, you primarily interact with other roles within the Data Management and Central Monitoring Team.
- Central Monitor Intern role‐specific responsibilities:
- Supports Central Monitoring Managers and/or Central Monitoring Leaders in the set‐up, execution, and/or close‐out of Analytical Risk‐Based Monitoring (ARBM) on clinical studies as outlined in the end‐to‐end process.
- Activities may include the use of various systems and databases to analyze risks related to trial quality/performance, study participant safety, and compliance and the identification of trends and early warning signals.
- Supports execution of ARBM strategies by study team members, helping to ensure appropriate actions are taken by the central or local team members to investigate, resolve, and document potential risks and resolutions.
- Data Manager Intern role‐specific responsibilities:
- Supports the execution of trial level data management activities per applicable procedures, with direction from the Data Management Leader, Global Data Manager or Clinical Data manager.
- May include scientific study data review and management of Clinical Data Manager, Study Responsible Scientist, and Study Responsible Physician related queries in EDC system and other clinical data review activities (e.g. Coding, SAE reconciliation).
