As a passionate waitress, you will combine your experience in the hospitality industry with a strong guest focus. With several years of experience in luxury hotels and an affinity for Japanese cuisine and culture, you know how to create an unforgettable experience for guests. Your flexible attitude and eye for detail enable you to always meet the highest expectations. You are the link between the kitchen and the guests, always focused on exceeding their expectations.
- You show similar work experience (1-2 years) in luxury hotels and/or restaurants
- You preferably have a few years of experience in a Japanese Restaurant
- You have sufficient knowledge of Japanese dishes and menu's
- You are fluent in English orally, preferably also in writing
- The ability to speak Japanese and Dutch is an advantage
- You are used to following guidelines with regards to safety, Arbo, hygiene and HACCP
- You have a job related education
- Knowledge of the Japanese culture, customs and kaiseki kitchen is mandatory for this position
As a waiter/waitress, you will be in charge for taking orders, serving dishes, handling payments and cleaning the restaurant. You are able to serve guests in the Japanese manner, explaining kaiseki dishes
- operational tasks in the restaurant, such as taking orders, serving guests and arranging payments
- mise-en-place, providing information on Japanese dishes, preparation methods, Japanese tradition and culture
- proactively selling restaurant products
- working in a multicultural environment
- maintaining excellent contact with guests in foreign languages
- keeping the restaurant clean
- following safety, health & safety, hygiene and HACCP guidelines
Hotel Okura Amsterdam is home to the authentic Yamazato Restaurant, the first Michelin-starred traditional kaiseki restaurant outside Japan. Led by Executive Chef Masanori Tomikawa, a team of Japanese chefs prepare more than 50 specialities from the kaiseki ryori, Japanese haute cuisine. With an interior that includes typically Japanese materials and a beautiful cherry garden, you will imagine yourself in Japan.
